This stripped-down staging of Shakespeare's popular history is filled with political intrigue, fierce battles, and some of Shakespeare's most soaring and beautiful language. The modern dress production conveys the universal military ordeal facing anyone in combat (it is set after the terrorist attacks of 9/11), but the language is still Shakespeare's. Henry V stands as one of the most profound and personal meditations on the weight of power ever written. Explore the brutally thoughtful, fiercely funny, belligerent diplomacy of King Henry V with this timeless coming of age tale. You will truly become part of this band of brothers -- “We few, we happy few.”
(It had been announced that we were opening our 2011-2012 Season with Anne Nelson's The Guys. However, due to licensing restrictions we are unable to perform this play at this particular time. Henry V will be presented in its place.)
